Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely cannot get enough of cane furniture. I once ventured 45 minutes away via Uber (I know, I know) to pick up a set of vintage cane chairs that I found listed on Craigslist, and I always keep an eye out for cane pieces when I'm visiting my favorite home decor stores. Cane furniture is so timeless—I grew up surrounded by many antique cane pieces in my parents' home, yet there are also plenty of styles available on the market today that are perfect for those who appreciate a more contemporary look.
The only problem is that generally, cane furniture pieces are on the pricier end. So I was 100 percent pleasantly surprised when I was browsing Marshalls recently and came across an adorable and affordable cane stool that I knew would look amazing in my apartment. It actually reminds me a lot of a much pricier, similar stool that I had been lusting over for years but couldn't ever quite justify price-wise.

The piece arrived in just a matter of days, which is super refreshing in a world where backordered furnishings are still definitely common. Better yet, there was no assembly required; the stool was ready to be styled as soon as I took it out of the box. It's lightweight and easy to lift, too, which I can definitely appreciate as someone who restyles their home often.
I knew that I wanted the stool to go somewhere in my living room, and I think I'll enjoy moving it around and styling it in a variety of different spots within that space. So far, I've tried it beside my fireplace mantel and next to my reading chair. The stool is small enough that it can easily slide under a console table, as well—you could even grab two and place them side by side for a chic design statement, the way one would with X-benches.
What's great about this piece of furniture is that in addition to looking fabulous wherever it's placed, it can serve a variety of useful functions. After all, you could style this piece so that it becomes a foot rest, bench, or side table. The top is slightly curved but is flat enough to balance a drink or plate, or I could also place one of my many serving trays on top to truly turn it into a miniature cocktail table of sorts.
The cane design on this piece is flawless and looks super high end. I love how this piece adds a pop of texture to my living room and complements the other neutral pieces that I have on hand. I know what tones and finishes I like, after all!
If your living room is already filled to the brim but you can't resist this piece, note that it would also look sophisticated in a bathroom, playroom, or walk-in closet—anywhere where a bit of extra seating or surface space is always appreciated!
