"I use blue and a deep yellow and ochre as color accents throughout the home," says Josifovic about his color palette of gray, blue and yellow in the studio. While some may shy away from saturated hues in a small space, Josifovic embraces it. "I like to stay earthy with many natural hues and materials."

In 2013, Josifovic started another project in addition to Happy Interior Blog - Urban Jungle Bloggers. The site focuses on the beauty and health benefits of having an array of plants at home. A mix of mid-century modern pieces and collected global elements sets Josifovic's decor apart. "I am an avid globetrotter and love to bring decor items from my numerous trips around the world," says Igor, as he describes the mix of influences in his interior. "I grew up with different cultures and [am] bilingual which also influences my interior style. I am drawn to ethnic patterns and textiles like kilim rugs and cushions, mudcloth, [and] indigo throws."

The apartment has some incredible angles due to the fact that it's a rooftop space. And Igor has made the most out of the unique architecture, carving out a bedroom nook beneath an A-frame ceiling. Framed by a window behind the bed, the space lets in a ton of natural light, perfect for Josifovic's many plants.

To keep with the home's theme of saturated hues, the wall behind the bed has been painted black. The shade creates a contrast between the white walls of the bedroom. It's also a great backdrop for the shades of blue and yellow that Igor loves to bring home.

    Happy Interior

For Igor, Happy Interior Blog was created with the idea that home is not just a simple space, but instead, an important personal haven. A space that encompasses a person's visual identity as well as a shelter to nourish their own sense of happiness.

"For me the most important interior style aspect is personality. I like to think of my home as my visual identity of who I am, what I like, what I am interested in, what defines me. Such a home is a perfect home to me."
