Anyssa was formerly a reporter for the USA Today Network -- Tennessee, Global Voice Hall Live, The Lexington Herald Leader, The Kentucky Kernel, and more. She primarily covered feature news, including human interest stories, food, lifestyle, fashion, and entertainment. She’s also written for personal finance guru, Dave Ramsey, and edited books on parenting.

When Anyssa writes or talks about tiny houses, she gets excited. She’s wanted to build and live in one for years. Now that she writes for The Spruce, she not only gets to share what she’s learning with others, she gets to use it on her own build.

Anyssa holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and multimedia, a minor in cultural anthropology, and a certificate in global studies from the University of Kentucky.
