Ashley Knierim is a writer and editor who loves everything home decor, travel, and food. She's spent years trying to find the perfect couch (the verdict is still out), and loves finding new ways to decorate her small Brooklyn apartment.

Ashley has spent over 10 years in content creation and editing. A natural writer and editor, she's covered everything from celebrities to politics to finance, but her real passion is diving into everything that makes a house a home. For the past two years, she's written about home decor trends on The Spruce.
When she's not writing about it, Ashley loves to DIY everything she can get her hands on. Her apartment is made up of a hodgepodge of IKEA hacked couches and refinished coffee tables. She is always moving around her living room for a quick refresh.
In addition to creating a perfect home, she is also a (very) amateur photographer and spends her time refining her iPhone camera skills and learning how to use a pottery wheel.
Ashley obtained a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from New York University. In college, she learned how to craft the perfect headline and tell a story. Throughout college, she held internships at CNN, Good Morning America, and Family Circle. She's since held editorial positions at AOL, Time Inc., and About.com.
Her design know-how is self-taught, and from a young age, she could be found tearing through the pages of Architectural Digest at the doctor's office. Today, she follows many design blogs and keeps up with every home decor trend. Whether she's trying it out in her own living room or eyeing Instagram photos, she's passionate about all types of design (but maybe a little partial to mid-century modern).
