When your friend or family member decides to welcome a new baby into their life, it’s a huge deal. Having a baby is a significant life decision that will alter your future forever and send you down a new life path full of love and happiness.

Perhaps the best way to celebrate this big step is by having a baby shower. For the new baby’s mother, having all of her friends and family members celebrate the announcement together is a dream come true. There’s nothing she would want more than all her favorite people spending the day celebrating her soon-to-be favorite person in the world.

Baby showers often consist of food, games, and gifts. Baby books are excellent gifts that both mom, baby, friends, and family members will love. It can be your favorite storybook as a child, a new book that looks perfect for the new little one, or even one you write on your own.

Baby books will get used over and over throughout a baby’s life. They act as learning tools for growing minds and give mom a fun, personal piece of memorabilia that she can look back on forever as her child’s first book.

If you decide to bring a baby book as a baby shower gift for your favorite new mom, it’s important to personalize it as much as possible. Make sure to write a note to mom and baby, add a pertinent quote, or maybe even draw a picture. Make the book your own and show everyone just how much you care about them.

Make It Special

Making a baby book gift special may seem difficult — books are special on their own, after all. But in order to make it the perfect gift for the mom-to-be, you should get creative.

Wrap the book in cute wrapping and tie a bow around it to give its presentation a boost. Choose the parent-to-be’s favorite colors or, if the baby shower is planned by a friend or family member, ask them their color scheme so you can make the gift match perfectly to the celebration’s decorations. Wrapping the gift makes it that much more fun and special.

Add a Personal Note

To make it even more special, add your own personal handwritten note. The best place to write it is on the blank first page at the beginning of the book or on the blank last page at the end of the book. Writing a personal note will make your gift a little more unique and it will ensure that this will be a memorable piece of this person’s childhood. They will always remember you when they read this book.

In your note, include why you chose that book for them. Was it your favorite story growing up? Perhaps the cover reminded you of them, or you were simply drawn to the beautiful illustrations included inside. Whatever your reason, let them know. That will help them understand why the book is special to you and why you chose to give it to them.

Make sure to sign it at the end of your note for an even more personal touch. You could also add stamps, stickers, or a drawing to make things more fun and uplifting. It’s a little extra piece for your new favorite kiddo to look at whenever they read this baby book.

Include A Bookish Quote

are practically synonymous with babies and raising children. They are educational, entertaining, and have the ability to make you feel every different feeling possible. Some of them teach growing minds the alphabet or how to count, others help them learn about their feelings or bodies. They can be inspiring and motivational pieces that are formative in a growing child’s life.

Include a quote about books or literature in the baby book you give. Find your old favorite quote or discover a new one that you think fits well with your book’s theme. A powerful quote will make your gift even more magical.
