The Beckham Luxury Linens Brushed Duvet Cover by ienjoy Home is hypoallergenic bedding that aims to provide style and comfort at a low price. With your choice of 13 colors, the microfiber duvet cover and shams are meant to match with the decor of any home—without breaking the bank. To find out if you really can get luxury quality at such a low price, we sent this product home with one of our testers, who opted for the burgundy queen-size duvet. Read on to see what she thought of the quality, comfort, and value of this bedding after using it for weeks.

Material and Texture: Soft and more breathable than expected

Made of 100 percent double-brushed microfiber, this duvet is designed to be soft and durable. Plus, it’s hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites. Microfiber, which is a synthetic material composed of extremely fine fibers of polyester, is also supposed to hold up better than cotton and also resist pilling. Our tester said, “The material, even though it’s polyester, is soft and pleasant to the touch. I usually prefer cotton for my bedding—it's just more comfortable—but I actually didn't mind this material.” She added: “The shams felt smooth and soft against my face, and I was able to breathe—it didn't get too hot or uncomfortable, as is typical with polyester.”

Washing and Upkeep: Machine-washable but wrinkles easily

Beckham Luxury Linens designed this duvet to be low-maintenance and easy to care for, while still looking and feeling luxurious. It’s machine-washable and you can put it in the dryer on low, so upkeep is minimal. However, our tester found that it didn’t live up to the manufacturer’s claim that it was wrinkle-resistant: “Even though the packaging says not to iron the duvet, it comes out extremely wrinkled,” she observed. “Even after washing, it needs ironing or steaming. This took forever to do.”

The shams felt smooth and soft against my face, and I was able to breathe—it didn't get too hot or uncomfortable, as is typical with polyester.

In terms of long-term durability, our tester didn’t have high hopes. “There were many, many loose threads—both on the duvet and the shams—along the stitching,” she said. “This makes me think that the product won’t last long and that it’s not high quality (although for the price point, I wasn't expecting it to be).”

Design: Thoughtful details and many color options but no corner ties

With 13 distinct hues to choose from, you certainly aren’t limited in terms of color options. Our tester found her color choice (burgundy) and sizing (queen) to be exactly as expected. “I've bought other sets in the past where the shams were incredibly oversized, but these fit my standard-sized pillows perfectly,” she said. “The duvet was appropriately sized, too—neither the shams nor the duvet had excess material hanging off the sides.”

Thoughtful details, like a concealed zipper on the duvet instead of buttons, kept the bedding looking neat. “There's a flap to help cover the zipper,” explained our tester, “and the openings to the pillows are concealed on the back rather than the sides. I appreciated this because it contributes to a cleaner overall look when the bedding is in place.”

However, our tester was frustrated by the fact that the duvet cover was difficult to put on and also that it didn’t stay in place: “No duvet cover is easy to put on, but this one, in particular, was extra difficult,” she noted. “First, the zipper only spans a portion of one side. If it was longer, the comforter would be much easier to slip in. Second, there are no corner grippings—not even ties, which are pretty standard. This causes the comforter to shift constantly, both while putting the duvet on and during the night if you move around while sleeping.”

There's a flap to help conceal the zipper on the duvet, and the openings to the pillows are concealed on the back rather than the sides. This contributes to an overall cleaner look when the bedding is in place.

Price: Hard to beat

For roughly $30, you get a queen-size duvet (the king size is less than $40) and two shams, making this an incredible deal. If you’re looking for an affordable bedding option, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something better for less. However, while it looks and feels nice enough, our tester wasn’t impressed with the overall value even at this bargain price: “I know I can get a higher-quality product for this price point or a slightly higher one,” she explained.

Beckham Luxury Linens Brushed Duvet Cover vs. Brooklinen Linen Duvet Cover

The Brooklinen Linen Duvet Cover is a luxury option worth comparing. While its price ($249 for a full/queen) is much higher than the Beckham Luxury Linens duvet (which also comes with shams), it’s made out of linen, which is known for being durable, breathable, and arguably much higher-quality. A common complaint with linen, however, is that it wrinkles easily, but our tester found that the Beckham Luxury Linens duvet cover had trouble with wrinkles, too, even though it’s made from microfiber. Both options are machine-washable and come in a variety of color options, but Brooklinen’s option has strong corner ties to keep the duvet in place during the night.

Final Verdict

Not worth it unless price is your only motivator.

If your main concern is finding an inexpensive duvet cover, particularly for a guest bedroom that doesn’t get used often, this one will get the job done without breaking the bank. Our tester, though, wasn’t completely sold: “I feel neutral about this product,” she said. “Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't buy it—the biggest reasons being the poor, low-quality stitching and the fact it was difficult to put on.” While there are some major selling points to the Beckham Luxury Linens Brushed Duvet Cover, we recommend spending a little more for a better, longer-lasting option.
