Believe it or not, 2022 is already on its way out the door, which means we're moving on from last year's Color of the Year (a calming sage green) to a new mood in 2023. Bringing a fresher, peppier perspective to the coming year is paint company Benjamin Moore, which has just announced its pick for 2023 Color of the Year — Raspberry Blush 2008-30, a saturated red-orange that is full of life. It's the perfect color for embracing the positivity and potential that a brand new year brings.
People are ready to bring color back into the home, taking a step outside their color comfort zones.
Cheerful Raspberry Blush is perfect to use in small doses or to coat an entire wall—the choice is yours. Use some on your ceiling or paint one of your interior doors to really add a pop to any room. And along those lines, if you've started to witness people going a bit bold with their paint choices, you're certainly not alone. “People are ready to bring color back into the home, taking a step outside their color comfort zones,” according to Andrea Magno, color marketing and development director at Benjamin Moore, which has an expansive collection of more than 3,500 paint colors. "Raspberry Blush 2008-30 and the Color Trends 2023 palette empower the use of statement colors that deliver delight and personality, while transforming rooms for incredible results."
Benjamin Moore is in good company with their pink-infused choice. Sherwin-Williams' Redend Point is "a soulful blush-beige," and Dunn-Edwards' Terra Rosa combines rosy pink with terracotta.
A Color Trends Palette Full of Drama
The colors that fall within Benmain Moore's Color Trends 2023 palette are all saturated, dramatic shades and consist of the following: Raspberry Blush 2008-30, Conch Shell 052, Wenge AF-180, Cinnamon 2174-20, New Age 1444, Starry Night Blue 2067-20, North Sea Green 2053-30, and Savannah Green 2150-30. North Sea Green is pictured in the cozy breakfast nook shown below, where it's even been used on the ceiling.
To celebrate Raspberry Blush and all that it entails, Benjamin Moore partnered with the musical duo Chromeo, who released a new song, appropriately also titled Raspberry Blush, which debuts today. The tune "celebrates the positivity and enjoyment of life that both color and music can influence," according to a Benjamin Moore press release. Furthermore, Benjamin Moore will be continuing the celebration with a number of events taking place in select cities, at which the Color Trends 2023 Palette will be featured. At the event, customers will have the chance to explore eight different curated Spotify playlists — one designed to represent each color — to get better acquainted with each of these new hues.
