You don’t need to break the bank in order to have a spa-like experience after stepping out of the shower. With the Home Decorators Collection Egyptian Cotton Shadow Bath Sheet, you can wrap yourself in a high-quality, ultra-soft bath sheet for under $35. (In our experience, you can sometimes find it on sale for under $20 for even bigger savings.) During our lab tests, we loved the plush, thick texture of the bath sheet, which is made from luxurious Egyptian cotton. We also appreciated their oversized form, as the 34-by-70-inch product offers ample surface area to bundle yourself up in. And with a weight of 675 GSM, the bath sheet has a hefty construction that feels sturdy and well-made.

In our lab testing, we found that although the towel was highly absorbent, its heavier construction can hold onto water longer than some other towels. Because of its thickness, it took upwards of two hours to completely dry. In our real-world tests, we found that hanging the bath sheet overnight allowed it to dry with no odor. When testing for durability, we found that the towel withstood our abrasion test well—its texture was disturbed but not diminished. However, we did notice that both the foundation and mascara stains remained to some degree post-wash. When we tried this product in our homes over the course of the month, we found that the bath sheet held up exceptionally well over time with a reliably solid performance and no signs of wear.

Turkish towels (also called "Fouta") are extremely lightweight and thin, but they dry incredibly fast, which can be a huge perk in humid climates and poorly ventilated bathrooms. The Cacala Pestemal Turkish Bath Towel is impressively lightweight and particularly quick to dry. In our dry-time lab tests, we found that most of the towel was dry within 30 minutes, much faster than other options. This means that it's also less likely to develop musty odors.

We also noted that a thin towel like this one can take some getting used to—the flat weave isn't plush like a traditional terry cotton towel. When we sent it home with one member of our team, she found that it wasn't absorbent enough to dry her entire body and decided to primarily use it for her hair. Another member of the team has used her Cacala towel for years to dry both her body and hair, and she loves it to this day. So whether this towel will be absorbent enough for everyday use may depend on the individual. On the plus side, we love that the flat weave doesn't shed like fluffier towels often do.

If you prefer an extra-large bath sheet, this towel will have you covered with a total of 70 inches of length. Their oversized design also makes it the ideal size for a beach towel (and it's light enough to pack up and take with you). Unlike many towels, the more you wash this towel, the softer it gets. The only detail we don’t like is that the manufacturer recommends line-drying the towel after washing to preserve the tassels. But, if you don't mind a few tangled tassels, we've found that the towel itself is durable enough to tumble dry. All in all, the Cacala towel has plenty to offer, especially if you're looking for something that will dry quickly or you're shopping on a budget.

When we took it home to test it over time, we found that it seemed to grow more absorbent after several washes.

Each sheet features a substantial weight of 685 GSM that makes them feel like you’re wrapping yourself in a bathrobe rather than a traditional towel. If you’re someone who prefers a fluffy bath sheet, you’ll find that Coyuchi’s are soft and thick to the touch, which makes them thicker and heavier. When we first began using the towel, we noted a silky texture that was slightly offputting, though that faded after we machine-washed and dried it. If you prefer to shop for organic home products, we think this one has impressive certifications to back it up. It's certainly pricey, but we think the construction makes it a worthwhile splurge if you have the budget for it.

Post-wash, we found that although the bath sheet remained fluffy, there was some slight shrinkage along the thick band, which compromised the evenness of its surface. When testing for durability, we were blown away by how well the bath sheet held up. After scratching the surface of the product, we found that the texture was barely altered, with very little fuzz or lint removed. We're confident that this towel can withstand everyday use without much change. Plus, makeup stains fully lifted from the material in our tests, despite the towel’s light color. And for under $50, we think this top-performing bath sheet is a steal.

So if you're searching for an oversized towel, we recommend sizing up to the bath sheet to make sure you're comfortable and can easily wrap it around yourself. The weave is slightly nubby with a medium pile,  but that doesn’t make it harsh; instead, this bath sheet feels soft enough to be in a fancy hotel. The 700 GSM towels dry quickly and never feel soggy after use. They also include a handy “locker loop” for easy hanging.

These towels feature a hand-crafted binding along the edge, offering an elegant design detail. However, the towel loop, which is sewn into that binding, can come loose and need to be reattached. It’s a minor drawback, but one that can prevent easy hanging. While Riley’s bath sheet isn’t the best choice if you want plushness first and foremost, we like the wide range of color choices, the unique texture, and the quick-drying nature of these solidly weighted sheets.
