The Spanish love chocolate — deep, rich and creamy chocolate. Since the 16th century, Spaniards have enjoyed chocolate, starting with thick hot chocolate, to sauces and candies. This list is the best of Spanish chocolate desserts, including flan, cake, pie, turron and mousse. If you are a chocolate lover, you'll want to try them all.     Chocolate and hazelnuts are a favorite combination in Spain, and these “pies” have it! Little chocolate pies are baked in individual ramekins, then filled with a sweet and creamy chocolate mixture, and a crunchy crust made of graham crackers and ground hazelnuts.

    This light cake has two favorite flavors of the Spanish dessert kitchen — deep, rich chocolate and almonds. It is made with finely ground almonds and chocolate, mixed with lady fingers that have been soaked in Spanish Liquor 43.

    Turron is a favorite Christmas candy, traditionally made with almonds and honey, but this chocolate version has become very popular. Who would guess that this sweet and crunchy chocolate turrón candy is easy to make at home? Combine melted chocolate with chopped almonds and puffed rice. Spread into a mold. Then, chill and slice when ready to serve.

    First, make turrón ice cream by combining vanilla ice cream with the two traditional varieties of turrón — soft and hard. Then, coat with chocolate, and sprinkle with crushed pieces of hard turron.  Freeze until hard. The perfect creamy, cool dessert for hot summer days.
