What Makes a Lightweight Bagless Upright Vacuum a Good Choice?

Bissell Powerforce Upright Vacuum Black, Amazon

Bissell produces a whole series of Powerforce upright vacuum cleaners. All are relatively low priced. The series includes bagged and bagless options as well as "helix" and compact vacuums. In general, all of these are solid products; your choice of Powerforce vacuum cleaner will depend on your budget, cleaning needs, and personal preferences.

Overview of the Bissell Powerforce Bagless and Helix Vacuum Cleaner

The Bissell Powerforce bagless upright vacuum cleaner is a low-priced vacuum cleaner with special features usually found only on higher priced models.

This vacuum does a good job picking up pet hair and dirt from the carpets. Here's how the Bissell website describes it:

The PowerForce® Bagless vacuum has been designed to be free of all bags. There are absolutely no bags to buy or change with a bagless unit. Traditional paper bagged vacuums lose their cleaning effectiveness as the bag fills with debris. In addition, it can be difficult to tell when the bag needs changing. Bagless vacuums have clear containers to capture the dirt. There are no bags to fill up and clog and you can see when it’s time to empty the dirt container. The result is more continuous airflow and suction power.

Review of the Bissell Powerforce Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The Bissell Powerforce vacuum cleaner is very easy to assemble and operate the first time. Although the vacuum is hard to push forward at times, it is lightweight (about 17 pounds) so it's easy to lift and maneuver. The Bissell Powerforce has plenty of suction power with its 12 amp motor and it leaves my carpets feeling and looking clean.

The Bissell Powerforce has an easy to empty dirt container that may be washed in warm, soapy water. This vacuum cleaner also features a 3-stage filtration system. These filters include a pre-motor filter, which protects the motor from dirt and debris, inner and outer circular filters which collect fine dust and particles, and a post-motor filter that helps return cleaner air to the room. These filters can be cleaned or replaced as needed. Under normal circumstances, you may not need to change the filters often, but if you live in the desert with lots of fine dust you may need to clean the filters after each use.

The Bissell Powerforce also features on-board tools for cleaning upholstery, autos, stairs and drapes. The stretch hose is very sturdy and easy to use with lots of cleaning suction. An extension wand, crevice tool, and combination dusting/upholstery brush are also included with this vacuum cleaner.
