What We Like
Removes most wrinkles
Doesn’t spill when used at an angle
Travel bag and brush head included
What We Don't Like
Lacks dual voltage
Whether it’s jet-setting for a wedding or traveling for fun, even the most organized suitcases will inevitably lead to wrinkled clothes. Thankfully, travel steamers like the BIZOND Mini Clothes Steamer are designed to help. This portable clothes steamer is small enough to fit in most backpack water bottle pockets, and it has multi-angle functionality that’s promised to perfectly press all sorts of fabrics. But can a device this small actually match a higher-priced household iron? We took the compact device for a spin to find out.
Design: A versatile, no-leaks build
While using this BIZOND Mini steamer, we actually forgot how petite this powerhouse of a travel gadget is. It feels sturdy and heavy-duty while steaming, yet despite how hot it gets, the handle remains cool to the touch. Unlike many travel steamers, the BIZOND Mini also has a much-needed, no-leak design; this means you can steam with the gadget from every angle (even on a flat surface!). Its 9.8-foot cord adds extra versatility when trying to find the perfect hook or door frame to steam on.
Unlike many travel steamers, the BIZOND Mini also has a much-needed, no-leak design.
The primary downfall of the BIZOND Mini’s design is its strict voltage; while some steamers offer dual voltage for travel, this 110V to 120V gadget is designed solely for the U.S. According to the manufacturer, use of adapters and converters with this BIZOND steamer is forbidden. We were disappointed to learn that we wouldn’t be able to take this trusty steamer on international trips.
Size: As tiny as a travel mug
At 1.28 pounds—and no larger than a pint glass or travel coffee mug—the portable BIZOND fits in any suitcase or backpack. We like that its cord has a hook-and-loop fastener tab for tight packing and organization, while the included travel bag helps travelers keep the steamer, accessories, and instructions in one place.
The primary downfall of the BIZOND Mini’s design is its strict voltage.
Performance: Removes wrinkles quickly and precisely
This steamer may be small, but it works just as well as most household—and higher-priced—steamers. In our tests, the device heated up in less than 30 seconds and, if filled to the top, can last for up to 10 minutes.
This steamer may be small, but it works just as well as most household—and higher-priced—steamers.
Once heated, the BIZOND Mini and the attached brush easily removed most wrinkles after no more than two strokes. In fact, steaming a wrinkled long-sleeve blouse took no more than two minutes. Beyond effective pressing, it penetrates into the garment’s fabric to remove the persistent, stale odors from long-term travel and backpacking.
Accessories: The brush attachment helps steam go deeper
This BIZOND steamer comes with a small, attachable brush that easily pops on and off the steamer’s head. While it’s not essential, we found using this attachment helps the steam penetrate even deeper into the fabric, making for an even quicker pressing session with extra odor reduction.

Price: High-quality steaming at a slightly higher price point
While it’s more expensive than most other travel steamers, the BIZOND Mini also offers functionality and quick results that most travel steamers lack. Will it get out every single wrinkle? No. But this $40 powerhouse will help you de-wrinkle your clothes quickly while traveling.
Competition: A top-notch steam that trumps its competition
URPOWER Portable Garment Steamer: The BIZOND steamer is pricier than many competitors. The URPOWER Portable Garment Steamer, which we also tested, costs around $20 compared to the BIZOND’s price tag of around $40. But when it comes to this efficient and effective powerhouse of a steamer, you get what you pay for. Case in point? The URPOWER steamer takes about two minutes to heat up, while the BIZOND Mini takes 25 seconds.
The URPOWER can’t be tilted beyond 45 degrees; with the BIZOND’s leak-proof build, you can steam at every angle. And, when it comes to power, the BIZOND steamer takes significantly less time to steam garments than the URPOWER. Both travel steamers come with a pouch for carrying, but the BIZOND Mini comes with a brush for deeper presses, and the URPOWER comes with a heat-resistant glove for safe steaming.
PAX Handheld Fabric Steamer: While the PAX Handheld Fabric Steamer’s heat-up time is speedy for its price point—it heats in less than 60 seconds—it’s still below that of the BIZOND, which heats in 25 seconds. That’s just the beginning of the BIZOND steamer’s winning categories. The BIZOND Mini is significantly more powerful than the PAX; it takes about half the time to steam a shirt when compared to the competitor.
Additionally, the BIZOND steamer’s no-spill technology makes it more versatile than the PAX model, which leaks when titled more than 45 degrees. The BIZOND also comes with a variety of accessories like the pouch and attachable brush, while the PAX steamer is all you get.
A must-buy for most travelers.
If you mostly travel domestically and have noticed your clothes tend to wrinkle in transit—and you’re ready to fix it—you need to buy the BIZOND Mini Clothes Steamer. The slightly higher price tag is well worth the investment, as this small-yet-powerful steamer will last for years (with a three-year warranty to back it up).
