- 4 ounces butter or margarine (softened)
- 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup flour (all-purpose)

- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Grease and flour a 7-by-11-inch baking pan
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Add the egg and beat in until well combined.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture incorporating until well combined. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter in the prepared pan.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
