Since 1997, Carroll Pellegrinelli has been the Desserts and Baking Expert for The Spruce. She has cooked both professionally and privately for most of her life.
Carroll has been creaming her butters and sugars since she was tall enough to reach the kitchen counter. As an adult, she and her husband owned and operated a successful catering and personal-chef service called
What's For Dinner?, Inc. Carroll also co-chaired and edited a community cookbook. She has created hundreds of recipes, along with many step-by-step photo preparation instructions for this website.

There are two mystery novels: Scones and Bones, a Tea Shop Mystery by Laura Childs and Murder Takes the Cake, a Daphne Martin Cake Mystery by Gayle Trent that feature a couple of Carroll's recipes.
Her cookbook reviews are featured on the backs of 101 Recipes for Gluten-Free Microwave Mug Cakes by Stacey J. Miller and Baking with Friends: Recipes, Tips and Fun Facts for Teaching Kids to Bake by Charlene Patton and Sharon Davis.
Carroll also served as a judge at The American Pie Council Crisco National Pie Championships in Celebration, Florida.
Currently, she is working on a series of cookbooks soon to be published, as well as her family history through food.
