The Char-Griller Outlaw is a great barrel-style charcoal grill for a good price (typically around $150USD). The construction is good and with the adjustable coal grate you can do a wide range of grilling on this unit. The large cooking area (1000 square inches) will give you lots of space to work with.
This unit doesn't have the kind of airflow control that will let you shut down and extinguish the coals like some units (like the Weber Kettle).
Add the optional firebox and you can turn this unit into a good smoker a lot of great features including a pull out ash tray for easy clean up.
