To Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Gather the Ingredients
The first step in learning how to make chocolate strawberries is to gather all of your ingredients together. You will need:
- 12 oz. good-quality semisweet or dark chocolate (either a bar, chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips)
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 quart fresh strawberries

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries Step 2: Line a Baking Sheet
Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. This will give you a place to put your chocolate covered strawberries while they cool and harden.

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries Step 3: Wash and Dry the Strawberries
Wash your strawberries, and dry them completely with a paper towel. This will make it easier for the chocolate to cling to the berries.

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries Step 4: Chop the Chocolate
Use a sharp paring knife to chop the chocolate, placing your other hand on top of the knife as you chop to keep the chocolate pieces from scattering.

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries Step 5: Melt the Butter and Chocolate
Place the chocolate pieces in a microwave-safe bowl. Top with the butter. Heat in the microwave on 50% power for 1 minute. Stir. Continue heating in 30-second increments, if necessary, until the chocolate is melted.Continue to 6 of 7 below.

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries Step 6: Dip the Strawberries
Holding a strawberry by the stem, carefully dip in the warm chocolate, coating almost completely. The berries look best when you can see a hint of red near the stem.

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries Step 7: Let the Strawberries Cool
Place the strawberries on the waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Let them cool until you're finished dipping all of the berries. Then transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator to let the chocolate-covered strawberries cool completely.
When the chocolate is completely hardened, the berries are ready to eat.
