Fancy cookware or kitchen tools aren't necessary to cook great food. They can, however, make your life a whole lot easier. Here is a list of my favorite online stores for kitchenware, in no particular order. So whether you're looking for a chef's knife or a cherry pitter or that whatchamacallit that does that thing, look here first. These shops often have sales, so check around for the best price.

I'm a huge fan of Food52, a foodie website created by journalists Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs in 2009. Recently they have made the foray into the retail business with their Provisions by Food52 shop, a gourmet food and kitchen store.
I love looking through the website. They have a wonderful selection of absolutely gorgeous cookware (seriously, they are true works of art) - all carefully chosen and tested by the staff. The prices are generally very reasonable. Many of the items are... exclusive to Food52 and the photography is outstanding. Provisions is definitely a foodie paradise!

Sous Vide cooking is the hottest thing in the food world right now. The method of gently cooking foods that have been sealed in an airtight container inside a water bath results in very flavorful and moist dishes. Requiring special equipment, this wonderful method has been only the domain of high-end restaurants, Now, however, there are sous vide machines for the home at much lower cost. SousVide Supreme makes some of the best.

Huge selection of tools, kitchen appliances, cookware, and bakeware. What I like about Cutlery and More is their great selection within each category. For example, if you're looking for a whisk, you can find almost 50 different whisks to choose from. If you are a picky shopper like I am, options are good.
