Crockpot Ground Beef Chili Recipe

This is a flavorful, well-seasoned slow cooker recipe with lean ground beef and canned beans. 

What You'll Need

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 large green bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, or to taste
  • 2 cans (approx. 16 ounces each) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (16 ounces) tomato puree
  • 1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, drained
  • 2 cans (approx. 16 ounces each) chili hot beans, undrained

How to Make It

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. With a slotted spoon, remove the beef to the slow cooker.
  2. Saute chopped onion and green pepper in the skillet drippings until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Transfer to the slow cooker and mix with the beef.
  3. Add spices to the beef mixture and let stand 1 hour.
  4. Add tomatoes, tomato puree, and the beans.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours.
  1. Even better flavor refrigerated and reheated the next day.

Serves 8.
