Philadelphia is a city that enjoys a constant blending of the old and the new at every turn. Buildings that predate the founding of our nation live in harmony with modern, gleaming skyscrapers and the interiors of homes in and around the sprawling city are as diverse as its residents.
Philadelphia’s Marketplace Design Center brings together all that’s needed for a well appointed home. Here, forty showrooms welcome you to experience some of the best design in the City of Brotherly Love.
Together, the showrooms offer furniture, signature fabrics, lighting and accessories, flooring and wallcoverings, antiques, custom kitchen and bath remodeling and more.
The Marketplace plays host to a variety of design seminars and events throughout the year and a designer lounge and two in-house restaurants offer a break on any given day. An added convenience, designers are welcome to utilize the lounge as a meeting space when bringing clients to the Design Center.
The Marketplace also enjoys a supremely convenient location; you’ll find it just off the Schuykill Expressway, right across from Amtrak’s 30th Street Station.
Designers will need to register with the Marketplace concierge in order to be admitted to the center.
Fine Design Meets Fine Dining
While the Marketplace may be known for design, the eatery within has earned a reputation all its own. The Design Center’s restaurants are the creative vision of Chef/owner Patrice Rames who brings a taste of his European roots to Philadelphia.
On the top floor, you’ll find Bistro St. Tropez, which offers simple, classic French cuisine, and, for a more casual dining experience, Le Petit Café takes its inspiration from European cafes. Le Petit Café serves breakfast and lunch on business days while Bistro St. Tropez offers dinner hours Wednesday through Saturday and catering services for on site events.
