Kids will love a green milkshake, or milk dyed green accented with this DIY lucky shamrock straw that makes the beverage extra fun. To make your own all you need is a sheet of green cardstock and some straws and you can have some shamrock straws in under 5 minutes, perfect for the busy parents!

    Instructions: 

    • Download either the pdf or svg template of the shamrock and either print the .pdf onto a sheet of green cardstock and cut out the shamrocks by with scissors or open the .svg in Silhouette Studio and have your Silhouette machine cut out the shamrocks for you. Another open is to freehand draw a shamrock onto a piece of green cardstock, cut it out and use it as a tracer to create additional green paper shamrocks.
    • Using a single hole punch make a hole in the middle of each of the paper...MORE shamrocks.

    • Take one paper shamrock per straw and slip the straw through the hole in the middle of the shamrock. Slip the shamrock down 1-1.5 inches so that it is near the top of the straw so that it will stay out of the drink. Repeat this process with all the straws.

    • For your St. Patrick's Day celebrations either gather all the straws up in a mason jar and let guests make their own drinks, or make your own signature green drinks and garnish each drink with a lucky shamrock straw.
    • To make a child friendly green drink, fill two small bowls one with corn syrup and the other with green sprinkles. Dip the rim of the glass into the bowl with corn syrup, followed by the bowl with green sprinkles to re-create the green rim in the photo.
