    How To Make A DIY Pencil Vase For A Back To School Teacher Gift (Part 1):

    • Plug in the hot glue gun and take a pencil and place it flat against the vase where you would like it to be glued. Note how far the vase goes up the pencil, in this case the vase stopped an inch below the end of the pencil. Laying the pencil flat hot glue was placed from the bottom of the pencil just up to 1 inch before the end of the pencil so that the entire side that would make contact with the vase had hot glue.

    How To Make A DIY Pencil Vase For A Back To School Teacher Gift (Part 2):

    • When placing the first pencil on the vase it is very important to try to align the first pencil as straight as possible as all the pencils will go next to the first pencil. 
    • The hot glue will harden firmly on the glue on seconds so it is important to only put glue on the pencil you are working on and to quickly place the pencil on the vase.
    • After the first pencil glue the next pencil and place it against the first pencil....MORE Lightly squeeze the sides of the pencils together to ensure they are as close to each other as possible. Continue glueing the pencils and placing them next to the previous pencil until the entire vase if covered with pencils. This will take around 4-5 packages of pencils for a small glass vase.

    How To Make A DIY Pencil Vase For A Back To School Teacher Gift (Part 3):

    • To dress up the vase tie a decorative ribbon around the middle of the vase. Either use a school themed ribbon with a chalkboard pattern, alphabet or numbers or create your own ribbon as done here by painting a ribbon black with craft paint and sticking alphabet stickers onto the ribbon to create a custom blackboard inspired ribbon.
