How To Make Your Own Travel Art

    1. Either using a store bought travel map, or a printed one off the internet such as Stamen, find the city or location you wish to frame. For this travel art a printed map of Paris was used from Stamen's free watercolor maps.

    2. Create a heart tracer by folding a sheet of paper in half and drawing half of a heart on it so that the bottom point of the heart touches the center fold. Cut out the heart shape using scissors.

    3. Place the heart tracer on the center of...MORE a sheet of white paper that is larger enough to cover the entire picture area of your chosen frame. Flip the sheet over, and on the back side position the heart tracer in the middle. For extra accuracy you may wish to use a ruler to measure that the heart tracer is exactly in the middle of the sheet of paper.

    4. Grab a pencil, and trace around the heart tracer.

    8. Open your chosen frame, and place your newly created travel art within the frame, and hang the artwork on a wall.

Feel free to experiment with the cut tracer shape, while a heart adds a romantic touch, other shapes such as circles or squares will look more modern, while cutting out letters (such as the first letter in the city's name) or shapes like stars will give a more playful finish to your DIY travel art.
