Use these easy slow-cooker apples as a topping, a breakfast side dish, a filling, or alone topped with whipped cream.

What You'll Need

  • 3 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • dash of fresh grated nutmeg, optional
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter, cut in small pieces

How to Make It

  1. Place apple slices in the slow cooker. Stir in remaining ingredients and dot with butter.
  2. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours, or until apples are tender but not mushy. Stir about halfway through cooking.
