Easy Crockpot Fried Apples Recipe

Use these easy slow cooker apples as a topping for pound cake, pancakes, or waffles. Or serve them as a breakfast side dish. They make an excellent dessert on their own as well. Top them with some whipped cream or drizzle with heavy cream.

What You'll Need

  • 3 pounds Granny Smith apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: dash of nutmeg (fresh grated)
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter (cut into small pieces)

How to Make It

  1. Peel the apples; core and slice them into thin wedges. 
  2. Place apple slices in the slow cooker.  Add the remaining ingredients; stir to blend and dot with butter.
  3. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours, or until apples are tender but not mushy. Stir about halfway through cooking.
