Getting up early on Saturday morning for garage sales is becoming a thing of the past due to the popularity of online garage sales. Facebook garage sales are one of the biggest ways that you can find great deals from the comfort of your own home.

Here you'll find out how to use Facebook garage sales to find items, buy items, and even host your own Facebook yard sale. There are even some tips that will get your stuff sold for more.

Finding Facebook Garage Sales

Facebook makes it easy to find their online garage sales, by putting all listings on Facebook Marketplace. When you visit, you'll automatically see a bunch of listings based on your location.

You can use the filters on the left-hand side of the page to choose a location and then choose how many miles surrounding that location that you want to search. The default is 22 miles, but you can choose anywhere from 2, 5, 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, or 100 miles. This makes it easy to find only items that you'll be able to pick-up.

After you've set your location, you're ready to shop. You can put a search term in or use the categories to find what you're looking for. There is Home & Garden, Housing, Entertainment, Clothing & Accessories, Family, Electronics, Hobbies, Vehicles, and Classifieds with sub-categories in each.

You can also set your minimum and maximum price so you'll only see those items, or even set it up so you only see the free listings in your area.

Buying From a Facebook Garage Sale

After you've set your search terms, you are ready to shop. You'll see a bunch of thumbnails that meet your search criteria and you can click on them for more details.

Now you'll be able to see more pictures and details about the item you're interested in. If you like what you see, use the "Ask About Availability" button to send an automatic message to the seller asking if the item is still available.

The seller will get back to you if the item is still available and the two of you can work out the details of price, payment method, and meeting point.

If you don't find what you're looking for you can sign-up to receive notifications when a listing with your keyword is posted.
