We purchased the Flexzilla Garden Hose so our writer could put it to the test. Keep reading for our full product review.

Hoses are simple tools that help yards and gardens flourish. A subpar hose can make your tasks more difficult or be a big waste of time causing a multitude of problems, including leaking, cracking, bursting, kinking, and being too heavy or unwieldy to carry around. The best hoses are super flexible, lightweight, durable, and resist breaking. We tested the Flexzilla Garden Hose's performance, design, and more. Continue reading to find out how this garden hose fares on all fronts.

Performance: Fantastic

This Flexzilla hose blew us away. We’ve tried a number of hoses over the years and the Flexzilla Garden Hose is right up there with the best. It is super light and easy to carry and maneuver on any terrain. The greatest features of this hose are that it is extremely pliable, durable, and strong, making it a delight to use.

It handled everything we used it for flawlessly. We used it for watering the lawn and flower beds. We also used it for washing my minivan and rinsing out my compost bin and garbage can, as well as using it to add water to our pool. In all cases, this hose was super simple and pleasant to use and performs well for any watering task. The water flows well at low and high water pressures.

We also used the hose to wash our dog outside, which again, was simple with this product. If you have a dog, you’ll know how helpful it is to have a light and maneuverable hose when washing a squirmy dog.

This hose only weighs 8 pounds, it is so easy to carry and move around. Most other similar hoses clock in at double or triple that weight. Since it’s so light and maneuverable, it was a breeze for even my littlest to cart around to help with watering.

Another thing we liked about this hose is that it is lead-free, which means it is safe to drink water from. Many hoses can’t make that claim. The inner tube of the hose is constructed with a flexible hybrid polymer. To test it out, my kids enjoyed getting a drink from the hose while helping with the yard work.

Overall, the Flexzilla Garden Hose is a dream to work with, making gardening tasks seem easier. Plus, after a month of use, our hose still looks brand new, despite the kids dragging it all over the garden, including around trees and other items in the yard.

Design: A winner

The Flexzilla Garden Hose is made of a flexible hybrid polymer, which lets it easily bend and move as desired with ease. The Flexzilla company says their hoses can withstand extreme temperatures down to -40 F and to maintain flexibility no matter the weather. This hose was built to have zero shape memory so it won’t get stuck in a position, and it can bounce back to whatever shape you want it to be. The hose feels smooth, pliable, and solid in your hands. This hose also stays in place and doesn’t twist or tangle. It never kinked up for me while using it.

The hose also comes in many convenient sizes. We tested the 50-foot, 5/8th-inch. You can also find it in 10 feet, 75 feet, and 100 feet, as well as other diameters with different couplings. It is more than long enough to easily maneuver over a large space or backyard with enough length to go around obstacles. Under pressure, the hose lays flat and stays put without twisting out of place. The water also drains out easily.

Built for all-purpose use, the manufacturer says this long-lasting hose is durable and abrasion-resistant—and we believe it. The high-quality O-ring is made of anodized aircraft aluminum that is crush-resistant. The company also provides a one year warranty on this product.

The Flexzilla hose is also great looking, which is a fun bonus. Its vibrant neon green color called “ZillaGreen” puts plain black or green hoses to shame. The neon color shows up well against grass, pavement, or dirt.

Ease of Storage: Simple

Being that the Flexzilla Garden Hose is super light and flexible, carrying, lifting, and coiling this hose was effortless. The couplings are simple to attach and remove from the spigot, without any leaks.

Price: Worth every penny

Flexzilla’s Garden Hose retails for $78, but you can find online for $35 to $55. Similar hoses range in price from around $25 on up to $90, making this hose an excellent buy.

Flexzilla Garden Hose vs. Teknor Apex Rem-15 Hose

Both of these hoses come in fun, vivid greens and are made of durable materials. Beyond those similarities, these hoses are nothing alike. The 15-foot Teknor Apex Rem-15 Hose is stiff, difficult to work with, and prone to kinking, while the Flexzilla hose is pliable, never kinks, and is a dream to work with. The Teknor Apex hose retails for just $6, while you can get the Flexzilla hose for $35—and the later is well worth the extra money.
