Filet crochet is a lovely technique that makes use of double crochet and chain stitches (and sometimes lacets or other stitches) to create open meshes and filled-in blocks. You can arrange these elements to create intricate pictorial designs featuring flowers, butterflies and other motifs. Usually, the pictorial designs are charted, which gives you a helpful visual image of the design to work from.
This page is dedicated to offering you free filet crochet patterns and charts, which you are... welcome to use in the crochet projects of your choice.

Checkered Diamond Patterns in Filet Crochet
This checkered diamond pattern is endlessly versatile. There are two versions; one is a repeating pattern that you can use for making a project of nearly any size, large or small. The other chart is for a square design adapted from the repeating pattern.
- See an enlarged pic of the filet crochet sample (which is shown at left in thumbnail size.)
- Get the free filet crochet chart -- This version of the chart tiles seamlessly, and you can repeat it out as many times as you'd like to.
- Square Version... of the Checkered Diamonds Chart -- This version of the chart is a bit more than three repeats in each direction; this version of the chart produces a square meant to be used as-is.
