When we think of popular soul food breakfasts, chicken and waffles is probably one of the first menu items that comes to mind. This isn't surprising since it's basically the best combination that's ever existed... but when you pair this modern American classic with another classic - the grilled cheese sandwich - then you've got a combo that can't lose.

1. Once your frozen waffles thaw to room temp, add half of your cheese onto one of the waffles. Chop your fried chicken into bite size nuggets and then place on top. Add hot sauce and honey, adding more or less depending on your taste. Add the remaining cheese and finish by placing the other waffle on top.
2. In a cast iron skillet, add 1 pat of butter and melt until butter develops little bubbles.
Add sandwich and cook for a few minutes until the waffle becomes crisp and golden - then flip. Cook for a few minutes on the other side until all the cheese has melted and the outside of the sandwich is crispy.
3. Remove from heat and let sit for one minute. While it's sitting, mix equal parts hot sauce with equal parts honey and serve alongside sandwich. Enjoy!
