Sometimes you just want a continuous hint of fragrance in the air without spraying or overpowering a room. A friend suggested I try a wax melt warmer when I mentioned that my mood was seriously improved when a soft citrus smell was in my home. I picked up the Glade Wax Melt Warmer and a few different wax cubes at my local grocery store and decided to give it a try. What I found was simple to use air freshener method without any effort on my part.
Glade Wax Melt Warmer Instructions
To use the Glade Wax Melt Warmer remove the warmer plate and the warmer base from the box. Place the warmer plate onto the dish. The warmer plate doesn't click into place; it just sits on top. Next, you plug the warmer into an outlet. Place one wax melt into the warmer dish. It might be tempting to add more, but it's only meant to hold one at a time. Next, rotate the switch on the cord to turn on the warmer. There is a red light on the back of the warmer to help you know it is on.
The plate will begin to heat up and slowly melt the wax, releasing the scent into the air. When no more scent is released into the air, you can turn the switch off and allow the wax to harden. When the wax is completely cooled, you can pop it out of the plate and toss it.
Cleaning and Maintenance
To clean the warmer, you turn off and unplug the unit. Make sure you allow the warmer to completely cool.
Remove the dish and wipe it down with a damp cloth. You can also clean the dish with a soft cloth and warm water with a few drops of dish soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners which can damage the finish and make the plate less effective.
Glade Wax Melt Warmer Pros:
This product is pretty and simple to use.
It's ceramic warmer fits into any decor. It doesn't take up a ton of counter space. To use it, just plug it in with the plate on top, and you are ready to drop your favorite scent of wax melt onto the plate.
The cost of the warmer was only about 10.00. The wax melts can be found from Glade and many other brands very inexpensively. There are over a dozen scents to choose from with new seasonal scents being often introduced.
I also loved that the product didn't get too hot. I accidentally touched the plate with my arm, and while it was warm, I was not burned at all. The wax itself is fairly warm, but still not burning hot.
Glade Wax Melt Warmer Cons:
The Glade Wax Melt Warmer is more expensive than plug-in scented oil air fresheners, or canned air fresheners. You'll need to spend a little more money at the beginning to buy the warmer, but the wax melts aren't very expensive, and one package of six lasts even with heavy usage at least a couple of weeks.
This tool does need to be left out on a table or countertop to work. Because of that, you may have to get creative to keep it out of the reach of children and babies who may be drawn to it. I keep my mine on a kitchen countertop where my toddler can't even see it.
