Simple and delicious, this bacon wrapped pork tenderloin is full of flavor and quick and easy to prepare. This recipe can be made healthier by using nitrite free, uncured bacon, which tends to be lower in fat and calories.  However, if you are a traditionalist, then stick to your favorite type of bacon. The choice is entirely up to you.

What You'll Need

  • 2 pork tenderloins
  • 6-8 strips of bacon (raw)
  • For the Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons/45 mL ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon/15 mL brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon/5 mL onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon/1.25 garlic powder (use more if preferred)

How to Make It

Preheat grill for medium-high heat. Combine sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Divide sauce and brush half on each tenderloin. Cut bacon slices in half and wrap around pork. Secure with sturdy toothpicks or halved wooden skewers. Place onto grill and cook for 20-25 minutes, making a 1/4 turn every 4-5 minutes. Once internal temperature of tenderloins reach 150 degrees F., and the bacon is nicely cooked, removed from heat.

Let meat rest for 5 minutes, then carefully remove toothpicks or skewers. Carve into 1 1/4 inch slices and serve with you favorite sides. If cooking larger tenderloins, double the sauce recipe.
