Grilled Basil Beef and Turkey Burgers

The mixture of ground beef and turkey adds a nice texture and flavor combination to these herb filled burgers. These burgers are perfect for any cookout or weeknight meal. Top them off with roasted red peppers, 

What You'll Need

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2/3 cup sweet onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup basil (fresh, chopped)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 jar roasted red peppers
  • 8 hamburger buns

How to Make It

  1. Combine egg, onion, basil, ketchup, Parmesan cheese, garlic, pepper, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add ground turkey and ground beef to the bowl, mixing well. Shape into eight 3/4 inch thick patties.
  3. Preheat grill for high heat.
  4. Place burgers on the grill and reduce heat to medium.
  5. Cook burgers for 10 to 14 minutes turning once half way through.
  6. When done, remove from grill and serve warm on toasted hamburger buns and sliced roasted red peppers.
