This swordfish is marinated in a mildly sweet and sour Asian-inspired mixture, then grilled hot and fast.  A wonderful way to experience grilled swordfish.

What You'll Need

  • 2 swordfish steaks, about 6 ounces each
  • 3 tablespoons (45 mL) honey
  • 3 tablespoons (45 mL) soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) oil
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 mL) grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL)
  • lime zest
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 mL)
  • white pepper

How to Make It

  1. Place fish in a large glass bowl or shallow baking dish.
  2. Combine marinade ingredients in a small bowl and pour over fish. Make sure to coat fish evenly on both sides.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and place into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  4. Preheat grill for medium-high heat.
  5. Remove fish from marinade, making sure to reserve marinade.
  6. Place fish on a lightly oiled cooking grate and brush with marinade.
  1. Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes, turn, and coat with marinade again. Allow fish to cook for a remaining 5 minutes.
  2. Once fish is opaque in the center, remove from heat and serve.
