Blending adult beverages with our favorite childhood candies happens quite often in the cocktail world and it creates some very fun drinks. This Gummi Bear Margarita recipe is one of those examples.

This margarita recipe features a special tequila from Voodoo Tiki. Their Blue Dragon Tequila is a flavored tequila that blends blue raspberries with kiwi to create a unique flavor that works very well against the earthy agave of tequila.

The fun part about a cocktail inspired by these tiny candies is that there really are no rules or perfect ratios needed to replicate the inspiration. Gummy bears come in a variety of flavors and colors, so let your creative juices flow and mix up your own personal Gummy Bear Margarita.

Don't forget the gummy bear garnish, though! The candy is half the fun.

How to Make It

  1. Rim a chilled margarita glass with sugar, fill with ice and gummy bears.

More Tips for Making the Gummi Bear Margarita

If you cannot find Voodoo Tiki (to be honest, it's not easy), you might think about doing your own infusion. I would use more raspberries than kiwi, at about a 3:1 ratio, and allow the infusion to set for about one week.

Test it to see if it has the flavor you are looking for and let it go longer if needed. Because blue raspberries are not as common as red, I would probably stick with what is available as well.

Another option is to use a non-flavored tequila. In this case, you could bring raspberry back into the mix a number of ways. One easy option is to use a raspberry liqueur or syrup in place of the grenadine or split it with the cranberry juice. To bring the kiwi into the mix, you may opt for adding a kiwi-infused vodka or add a hint of kiwi by muddling a few slices with the sour mix before shaking everything together.
