If you like an Irish stout, you won't be able to resist the beer flavor of this vegan Irish beer bread recipe. The recipe is lightly spiced with cinnamon and just a light dash of nutmeg so that the stout flavors really stand out.

I call this Irish beer bread recipe "happy" because it calls for just a bit under 12 oz of beer, meaning you need to take a sip before using. Careful- just a taste!

With no eggs and no dairy, this is the perfect vegan Irish beer bread for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone following an egg-free or dairy-free diet on St. Patrick's Day. Enjoy!

What You'll Need

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 12 oz stout beer (take a small sip first, otherwise, there's just a bit too much!)
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2/3 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • dash nutmeg (optional)

How to Make It

Combine all of the ingredients and mix them well. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes at 350 F degrees. Making beer bread (and vegan beer bread at that) could not be any easier! Enjoy it!
