It could be argued that nearly all Spanish food is healthy. It features fresh, wholesome ingredients, tends to opt for olive oil over butter, and uses few added condiments-- but, even so, it's not always as healthy as it seems. Spaniards love their sweets, their bread, and their pork fat. Holidays are filled with creamy lard based cookies like mantecados, and stews like fabada wouldn't be complete without a big slab of pork fat.
