Four-thousand square feet, five bedrooms, and over two centuries old, the Philadelphia home of textile designer Chanee Vijay is quite special. A walk inside, and you are met by the beautiful historical bones of the space, that Vijay and her husband have kept exquisitely intact. Crown molding, original brass chandeliers, and stone fireplaces with elaborately gilded mirrors set the stage for a one-of-a-kind interior where luxury reigns.

Vijay has a keen eye for design. Since 2012, Chanee has been designing pillows and soft goods that speak to a refined, modern aesthetic. And she has truly brought that aesthetic home. Mixing the classic motif of her colonial home on Spruce Street with contemporary elements, like leather side chairs, the home showcases an eclectic mix of styles, all within a soothing neutral color palette.

The interior palette is a mix of linen whites, cool grays, warm browns and shimmering golds. Just like with Chanee's textile collection, a neutral backdrop allows the design to shine through. In the dining room, and throughout the home, rooms feel timeless, in a soft neutral palette, and textured layers add interest in each space. Here, a farmhouse table that easily seats six adds a rustic touch. It's grounded by a nubby jute rug, and chairs draped in rough-hewn linen covers that add to...MORE the textured mix.

The kitchen has its own seating nook, perfect for light gatherings, like tea with friends. The kitchen is the most contemporary part of this home, with a host of new finishes. The walls feature white subway tile for a modern look. And absolutely no detail has been left unattended in the space. A look over to the built-in cupboards and you see that they are brightened by beautiful brass handles that mirror the brass details found in the living and dining room. Around the table, a mix of chairs...MORE from different eras adds a special touch. Vintage wood chairs sit beside modern classic Eames Molded Plastic dining chairs. Another eclectic moment in this classic Philadelphia home.

A large, white farmhouse sink is perfect for preparing large meals for family gatherings. For a unique contrast, a brass faucet and fixtures were brought in to brighten the kitchen sink. Above the farmhouse sink a gleaming pendant from New York-based company, Schoolhouse Electric and Supply Co., adds a soft glow. Featuring the brand in her home holds a special significance, as Chanee collaborated with Schoolhouse Electric for her Spring 2014 textile collection.

The bedroom is the lap of luxury in this contemporary home. Walls have been painted a soft gray. The color is the perfect way to complement the original architecture in the space, like the detailed columns and large rounded mirror that are opposite the bed. Dark wood floors and a walnut canopy bed add contrast to the cool interior.

At the foot of the bed, a rug has been brought home for a pop of color. Chanee, a world-traveler, has an eye for inspiring global decor. And the authentic Persian rug in a mix of soft pink and gray immediately brightens the room's decor. Atop the bed, a mix of cushions from Vijay's various lines is a beautiful finishing touch.

Against the bedroom wall sits a vintage black campaign desk. It's a perfect vanity for Chanee, topped with her favorite jewelry on display. A woven textile and small basket add a global touch to the vignette.

While every room in this home offers a remarkable sense of style, the master bathroom is truly special. Here, Vijay crafted a one-of-a-kind space—a luxurious bathroom suite that would be hard to find even at a top hotel. Dark hardwood floors extend from the bedroom into the bathroom. A large white soaking tub has a beautiful view of the outdoors. And a candelabra chandelier is a lovely finishing touch.

The family room is the space where Chanee, her husband, and their three pups can hang out. Her pillows, handprinted in the home's studio, add a touch of color and pattern to the leather sofa. It's just one more place in this beautiful home where Chanee's style shines through.
