Writer, editor, and pet expert Jackie Brown has spent more than 25 years following her passion for animals. She is a regular contributor to numerous pet and veterinary industry books, magazines and websites.

Experience
Prior to starting her career in publishing, Jackie spent eight years working in veterinary hospitals where she assisted veterinarians as they treated dogs, cats, rabbits, pocket pets, reptiles, birds and one memorable lion cub.
Over the course of her editing career, Jackie oversaw many leading pet magazines, including Dog World, Natural Dog, Puppies 101, Kittens 101, Dogs USA, Cats Magazine, Rescue Proud, Dogs for Kids, the Popular Dogs Seriesand the Popular Cats Series. She was instrumental in the launch of several new pet magazines, including Rescue Proud, a title devoted to assisting homeless animals and the people who care for them.
Today, Jackie continues to write pets content for The Spruce Pets, as well as for other publications.
Education
Jackie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Irvine.
