Jenica Currie

Jenica is a commerce editor for The Spruce and joined the team in October 2020. Prior to that, she was a Quality Team producer for Dotdash Meredith from 2016-2020. She writes, edits, and tests products for The Spruce, focusing on outdoors, gardening, and home improvement.

Experience

In addition to many years of writing and editing in the home and travel space, Jenica has experience in community management, social media, and user experience. Before joining Dotdash Meredith, Jenica worked as an Expert Community Manager for Just Answer, a website that helps people get advice from experts in their fields. Prior to that, Jenica worked as a Community Manager and Managing Editor at RealTravel, a former travel blogging and trip planning site.

An avid gardener, Jenica enjoys the challenges of growing a cottage-style garden in her own backyard that's durable enough for three energetic dogs and a forgetful waterer. She enjoys testing products at home that can withstand wear and tear in her busy household and loves making the most of her outdoor entertaining space, constantly searching for the best patio furniture and accessories.

Education

Jenica received an MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University and a BA in English from SUNY Cortland.
