Jodi started her writing career very young, taking the news out of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune every morning while in elementary school and rewriting and packaging it by hand. And then she would sell her work to her doting parents.
She wrote for her high school newspaper and then earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin’s nationally renowned school of journalism. Jodi spent many years as an editor and manager at the Austin American-Statesman, working in every department from news to business, sports to lifestyle. She took her expertise from the newsroom to the marketing department, where she helped create the publication’s first sponsored content team.
Jodi remains based in Texas, where she lives with her husband and three boys, plus their two very sweet dachshunds. When not writing or editing, she spends her time reading everything she can get her hands on, working with her community to fight food insecurity, and endlessly driving her children all over creation.
