Les worked as the curator of The Arboretum at UUCCH in Cherry HIll, New Jersey, an internationally accredited arboretum. While curator, he helped usher in the garden's involvement into initiatives that lend to better environmental stewardship, such as the Sentinel Plant Network, and Botanical Gardens Conservation Internation. Locally, Les is an Environmental Commissioner in his town and member of its Green Team. He is an active member of the Shade Tree Federation of New Jersey, Holly Society of America and Conifer Society of America where he pursues his current tree obessions Hollys and Dwarf Conifers! Of course, he also enjoys gardening in his own yard where besides the odd tree he focuses on medicinal and culinary herbs used in making teas.
Les received the title of Master Gardener by the Camden County Extension of the Rutgers Master Gardeners in 2020. He is excited to be returning to school this fall to study Environmental Education.
