Lianne McLeod, DVM, is a veterinarian with an interest in a broad range of animal species.
As a veterinarian, Dr. McLeod treated a variety of animals, but caring for her own truly helped her understand the unique needs of exotic pets. Over the years, she has owned a hedgehog, wolfdog, rabbit, cockatiel, fancy mice, a chinchilla, rats, hermit crabs, fire bellied newts, fiddler crabs, many fish, and several dogs.
Dr. McLeod is a graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Simon Fraser University.

The Internet is a good starting point for research about exotic pets, but information found online can be out of date and sometimes misleading. I hope to provide a resource that helps people find the most accurate information about caring for a wide range of species.
