    The famous Crescent City Farmers Market runs Saturday mornings downtown (at the corner of Magazine and Girod Street), Tuesday mornings Uptown (River Road at Uptown Square), and Thursdays Mid-City (parking lot of the American Can Co.). You'll find local produce, chef tours, cooking demonstrations, and plenty of locally made food stuffs at all of them. Saturday's market, as you might guess, is the biggest.

    These markets, run by the Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA), happen Saturday morning at 5th and Main and Thursday morning at 6400 Perkins Road. Farm stands, artisan food products, and some prepared foods are all on offer. SNAP, WIC and SFMNP benefits are accepted at all locations.
