    Udon are white and thick wheat noodles. They are basically made by kneading wheat flour, salt, and water. Here is a way to make udon noodles at home.

    Adding Salted Water to the Flour

    Dissolve about 1 tsp of salt in 2/3 - 3/4 cup of water. Put 2 1/2 cup of wheat flour in a bowl. Pour salted water over the flour little by little.

    Add the salted water in the bowl and mix with flour well by hands.

    Kneading the Dough

    Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.

    Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and press to a thin round. Set aside for a few hours.

    Flattenning the Dough

    Spread some flour over a cutting board. Place the dough on the board and further flatten it with a rolling pin until the dough is about 1/8 inch thick.

    Spread some flour over the dough. Fold the dough and cut it into 1/4 - 1/5 inch width strips.
