If you have fruit in the house you are in luck. This is by far the most delicious maple syrup alternatives.  It is super easy to turn fruit into a delicious syrup of compote.  Add a cup of frozen or fresh berries into a sauce pan with a 1/4 cup of sugar.  Cook for about 5 minutes stirring frequently until slightly thickened.  You can also add jam and a little water to a sauce pan.  Heat it for about 5 minutes and serve it over pancakes or waffles!  You can use virtually any fruit.  Berries like...MORE raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries are the most common and work the best!

Make Chocolate Sauce or Use Ice Cream Toppings

    Croissant French Toast

A pre-made chocolate sauce is probably the easiest topping solution.  You can also melt some chocolate chips with a little heavy cream in a double boiler and pour it over the pancakes.  I also like to drizzle Nutella over pancakes and add sliced strawberries or bananas.
