Experience
Melissa is an expert writer with experience working with major lifestyle brands and publications. Her writing about home decor and tips appears on consumer sites such as Parents, Reader's Digest, and Insider, as well as for lifestyle brands such as Corcoran and Marriott. Melissa is also an avid traveler, and her travel writing can be seen at Frommer's, Fodor's, Martha Stewart Weddings, Elle, Saveur, and other publications.
Melissa and her family, including a rambunctious rescue Aussie Shepherd named Babka, live in a 110-yr-old house that's always in need of some TLC. Living here, Melissa has researched everything from the best fireplace accessories to the most comfortable patio furniture, not to mention the best beds for dogs. As the mom of a teen, she's also made it her business to figure out how to decorate a dorm room (and even how to get a teen to pick up their room, a true accomplishment).
And she's written about it all, so you can benefit from her life of research.
Favorite Purchase:
On a family trip to the Irish countryside in 2019, I bought an Irish lambswool and cashmere blanket in the charming town of Cong, after a stay at neighboring Ashford Castle, one of the grandest hotels I've ever visited. Every detail of the castle property is plush perfection, and I feel the same way about the blanket. It makes any piece of furniture it's on suddenly seem more elegant, and the fibers just keep getting softer over time, but without looking worn. Plus, it transports me back to my Irish castle stay, making a night in feel like a special treat.
