2014 Mississippi Sales Tax Holiday

Back-to-School Savings Through Mississippi's Sales Tax Holiday

The 2014 Mississippi sales tax holiday is one of the earliest back-to-school holidays out of all of the states offering tax free holidays. Dollar limits are per item.

Mississippi has several special conditions to follow. Layaways are not tax exempt. Only store coupons and discounts can be used to lower the price below the dollar limit. Manufacturer's coupons can't be used to bring the price below the threshold. Rain check purchases are only exempt if the item is bought during the sales...MORE tax holiday.

Neighboring states Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee also have sales tax holidays with different rules and items free from taxes.
