This is a nice and simple way to prepare flavorful fish kebabs that are loaded with flavor. Serve these by themselves as appetizers or over rice with grilled vegetables for a complete meal.  You'll need skewers to make the kabobs.

What You'll Need

  • 1 1/2 pounds/700 g white fish fillets
  • 1 cup/240 mL red onion (chopped)
  • 1/3 cup/80 mL olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons/30 mL cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons/45 mL lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon/5 mL paprika
  • 1 teaspoon/5 mL salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL chili powder
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

How to Make It

1. Cut fish into 1-inch squares. Place pieces in a resealable plastic bag. In a small bowl combine remaining ingredients. Add to fish. Mix thoroughly, seal bag, and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

2. Preheat grill. Remove fish from bag and discard marinade. Thread fish onto skewers. If using wooden skewers, make sure to soak them in water for at least an hour before threading fish.

3. Place fish kebabs on grill and cook on medium-high heat for 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Once fish reaches an internal temperature of 145 to 150 degrees F, remove from grill and serve.
