New Nintendo 3DS Games

Kids love to play video games at home, whether it is on a more expensive system like the Nintendo WiiU or on smaller gaming systems, like the Nintendo 3DS XL.

Having a portable system, like the 3DS, can entertain kids from as young as 6, well into the teenage years and adulthood. The 3DS is small, easy to carry in a bag or backpack when traveling, and it includes a lot of entertainment.

The Nintendo 3DS XL system gives kids the choice to play games in either 2D or 3D, but there are many other...MORE features that include camera for taking pictures and chatting with friends, the ability to search online and check email, as well as access to your Netflix or Hulu account to watch movies. Many WiiU games and 3DS games have amiibo compatibility. These toys and cards, which are purchased separately, can be placed on the device and players have a chance to unlock any number of surprises, depending upon the game they are playing.

As a parent, one of my son's favorite activities is to play video games, which he earns as a reward for making good choices at home and at school.  So when he doesn't behave, given its small size, I can easily take it away until his behavior is back on track.

You know your child's skill level and interests best, but many of these games do require the ability to read in order to find clues, so it is important to pay careful attention to the recommended age ranges so kids can play without frustration.

Whether kids enjoy playing solo, or meeting up with friends online to play together, here are some of the best new Nintendo 3DS games.
