We don't know about you, but we are already looking ahead to next year, and we're hoping 2021 blesses us with some much-needed change—in many, many aspects of life—and especially in the home decor space.

Yes, home decor. Is redecorating a bedroom or redesigning a foyer going to change the world? Nope. But will it make us happier and possibly put us in a better headspace? Most likely. We'll take the positives whenever we can. And let's face it: It feels good to update our homes, especially now that we're spending so much more time there.

And people are actually tackling their to-do lists and undertaking home improvement projects, according to Lowe's and Home Depot sales.

From decluttering to full-on renovations and new decor, home updates are going full steam ahead. One relatively low-lift way to give your home a facelift is through paint and wallpaper. New color palettes and wallpaper collections are filled with fun prints, serene neutrals, and touches of plant life that are sure to shake up your space, give you the refresh you might be looking for, or to help get you back to nature—from inside your home.

We’ve rounded up some of our favorites from industry pioneers and veteran creatives, showcasing some new collections and colors.

So the colors in the palette offer "a welcoming, lived-in quality that celebrates the connections and real moments that take place within the home," the company said.
    • Our Take
    • Aegean Teal is lovely and muted with its gray undertones, which is great for those who are intimidated by bold colors. But the terracotta shade, Potters Clay, is so warm, like a lovely hug on fall day. It just makes you feel cozy.

    • Themes
      Elevated comfort
    • The Inspo
“This has been a year of unpredictability, and 2020 has significantly changed our relationship with our home. When our color team began exploring a palette for the coming year, we knew it needed to be grounded in what we’ve been craving: comfort and personalization," said Vice President of Color Erika Woelfel. "A new, elevated articulation of comfort goes beyond traditional beige, gray and green hues, and embraces color in a way that can redefine and enhance any type of space inside or outside the home.”

The message is clear across the board, comfort is key. I am loving BEHR’s approach on the new year, providing a way to create a calm and safe place to come home to, through warm tones and soft neutrals. I would use every color in this collection if I could, but I am most drawn to Canyon Dusk, the perfect warm tone for my living room.
