    If you have written a note you'd like to send in style, check out some origami letter folds, there are numerous traditional designs to choose from, today I'd like to show you the first one that I learnt, the 'square letter fold' or sometimes just called 'letter fold'.

    For this origami model you need to start with letter paper, it also works with any size rectangular paper such as A4 and A5. 

    This beginner origami model works best with thin paper however also works with...MORE craft paper, but might be a bit stiff.

    Most kids from the age of 5 could learn this easy origami model and it would be lots of fun for passing notes to your school friends!

    Start by writing your note and make sure your writing is facing up before you start.

    Fold the paper in half, bottom to top.

    Next fold a section about a finger width up from the bottom edge.

    Turn the paper over.

    Fold the paper in half right to left and then unfold. 

    Continue to 5 of 8 below.

    You will now have a center crease.

    Fold the bottom right corner up and line it up to the center crease as shown.

    Fold the left bottom corner up to meet the centre crease.

    Fold the remaining top section down.

    Turn the model over.

    Fold the little triangles up on the left and right.

    Finally, fold the left and right corners down to meet the bottom center point, and then insert them both into the little pocket!

    I hope your origami letter fold turned out well, remember that origami takes practise and even an easy model like this one may take a few tries to get right!
