Pam Watternbarger is the author of the cookbook, The New Southern Cookbook: Classic Family Recipes and Modern Twists on Old Favorites. She has also written for Road TripN Magazine, Today's Mama, Verywell, Gulfshores Convention, and more. Experience

Prior to writing for The Spruce, Pam traded in her textbooks for travel and began chronicling her adventures online. When her children developed food allergies, she couldn’t find gluten-free and dairy-free recipes her family enjoyed, so she created her own. Now, the author of The New Southern Cookbook: Classic Family Recipes and Modern Twists on Old Favorites, she makes regular appearances on WRCB Weekend News in Chattanooga, Tennessee to showcase seasonal recipes.

Education

Pam earned a dual B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga.
