How to Make a Paper Bag Book Cover
Find out how to make a book cover using a brown paper bag. This is great for covering school textbooks, notebooks, or any other books you have.

Gathering The Supplies
Before you start any project it is easiest to gather together all of the supplies. For this project you will need:
- Text Book, Notebook, Etc.
- Paper Grocery Bag
- Cellophane Tape

Cutting the Paper Bag
Take apart the brown paper grocery bag to make one large sheet of brown paper. Do this by cutting down the side of the bag and cutting the bottom off.Continue to 4 of 10 below.

Fitting the Book In
Open your book and set it on the center of the paper bag. Fold up the top edge of the paper bag and crease it then fold up the bottom edge of the paper bag and crease it.Continue to 5 of 10 below.

Folding the Sides of the Book CoverNow, remove the book and fold in both of the creased edges of the paper. Set the open book back on top of the paper bag.Continue to 6 of 10 below.

Trim the Paper BagTrim the ends of the paper bag so they are about 3- to 4-inches longer than the edge of the book.Continue to 7 of 10 below.

Fold Over the EndFold one of the cut edges of the paper bag over the cover of the book so it fits snuggly along the edge.Continue to 8 of 10 below.

Tape the End ShutTape the paper bag together as shown in the picture. Make sure the tape only attaches to the paper bag and not the book. This flap will act as a pocket to hold the book cover.Continue to 9 of 10 below.

The Other SideNow, repeat step 7 and 8 for the other side of the paper bag. Once both sides are done, you can easily slip the book in and out as needed!Continue to 10 of 10 below.

Decorating Your Book Cover
Once you have finished assembling your paper bag book cover you should take a few minutes to personalize it! You can decorate it using crayons, markers, or paint.
